Hesar, Torqabeh and Shandiz

Hesar (Persian: حصار, also Romanized as Ḩeşār)[3] is a village in Torqabeh Rural District, Torqabeh District of Torqabeh and Shandiz County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,944 in 542 households, when it was in the former Torqabeh District of Mashhad County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,764 people in 569 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Torqabeh and Shandiz County.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,718 people in 755 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
