Zarabad-e Sharqi Rural District (Persian: دهستان زرآباد شرقي)[3] is in the Central District of Zarabad County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Zarabad.[4]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the former Zarabad District of Konarak County) was 6,495 in 1,362 households.[5] There were 5,691 inhabitants in 1,297 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 7,211 in 1,780 households. The largest of its 37 villages was Esmail Chat, with 831 people.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county to establish Zarabad County, two districts and four rural districts were formed, and the city of Zarabad was made the new county's capital.[4]
