Match in the final took place on July 17, 2022. In the final, the Japanese team defeated the Chinese team (which was the first hit in the final), which was the third title for the Japanese team. The Portuguese team for the first time advanced to the semi-final stage. Teams from Belgium, Chile, the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan and the United States qualified for the playoffs for the first time, while teams from the Czech Republic, Germany, Latvia and Romania remained in the group stage.

Format

On February 1, online pre-registration for teams was opened, but due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the acceptance of applications was postponed to the period from 12 to 28 April. In the registration of teams for this championship, the captains were required to indicate a list of 8 to 10 players.[1]

The championship was held in two stages: group matches and the knockout phase. 25 teams for each of the matches had to put up 5 players, who in turn had to play one duel of two games or three games if the first two games led to a draw. The top twelve teams qualified for the playoffs: the winners of their groups qualified directly for the quarter-finals, the second and third places qualified for Round of 16.

Teams

The participating teams from last year's championship were joined by ten debuting teams from Malaysia and Slovakia. The Chinese team returned from last year's suspension, while the Latvian team competed separately. However, the following teams withdrew this year: Belarus, Greece, Guatemala, Italy, Peru, Poland and Ukraine.
