In 2019, Finnest (now Invesdor GmbH) and the Finnish company Invesdor Oy merged to form a group. In 2021, formerly Finnest (now Invesdor GmbH), Invesdor Oy and formerly Kapilendo AG (now Invesdor INV AG) announced that they would act as a joint financing platform under the Invesdor brand to offer tailored financing solutions for companies in all stages of life, from the DACH region to the Nordics.

Business model

Invesdor offers financing opportunities to companies of various life cycles in the form of shares, (convertible) bonds and loans. Therefore, investors who use the Invesdor platform are offered a highly diversified range of investment opportunities. The Invesdor platform is available to investors from 96 countries. Invesdor operates on both an “all-or-nothing”-principle and an “acceptance-of-a-bid”-principle. The “all-or-nothing”-principle declares that if the financing threshold requested by the company is attained, the financing is carried out to the amount reached. If the financing threshold is not attained, the investors' investments are not collected. The "acceptance-of-a-bid "-principle asserts that the investors submit a bid and the company seeking financing has the right to accept or reject said bid. The investment is only made after the company has accepted the bid.

Top projects by funding

Invesdor has helped connect investors with companies seeking financing for over 800 projects. Some of the most notable of which include:

  • Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences: Over €27 million were invested in the seven financing rounds performed between 2017 and 2021. This project broke many European records and was the third largest project in the world at the time.
  • L’Osteria: Invesdor’s investors pledged over €2.3 million to L’Osteria, a German pizza chain with over 150 restaurants. The chain was founded in 1999 and has continued to expand and flourish since the financing.
  • Hertha BSC: In 2017 the Bundesliga team Hetha BSC received €1.5 million in financing from Invesdor’s investors, of which the final €500,000 of the goal amount were invested in less than 90 seconds. This was the first ever instance of digital financing in the Bundesliga. The investments were successfully repaid in 2020.
  • van Moof: Over €7.6 million was invested in the company by the crowd and angel investors. Within 12 hours, no less than 923 private investors brought together €2,5 million.
  • NextKidney was another impactful project with a final amount of €4.17 million for this innovative medtech solution.
  • Fairphone had over 1000 crowdfunders on Oneplanetcrowd in 2018. Recently investors had the opportunity to partially exit or keep supporting this sustainable company.
