Ezhiyeh

Ezhieh (Persian: اژيه, also Romanized as Ezhīyeh, Azhyeh, Ezhyeh, and Ezhiyeh)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Ezhiyeh District of Harand County, Isfahan province, Iran.[4] Ezhiyeh is about 75 kilometers southeast of Isfahan.

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,309 in 948 households, when it was in the former Jolgeh District of Isfahan County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 3,481 people in 1,094 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,156 people in 1,081 households.[2]

The district was separated from Isfahan County in 2021 to become Harand County. The new county was divided into two districts, with two rural districts and one city each, and the city of Harand was chosen as its capital.[4]

Language

Linguistic composition of the city consists solely of Persian Dialects being spoken.[7]

Notable people

Iranian Chief of Justice and Cleric Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i is from Ezhiyeh.
