"Angel" is a song by English singer PinkPantheress for Barbie: The Album, the soundtrack of the 2023 film Barbie. It was released on 8 June 2023, as the album's second promotional single.

Background

In an interview with Elle, PinkPantheress stated that she was surprised when producer Mark Ronson invited her to be featured on the Barbie soundtrack.[1] "Angel" was the first promotional single released from the soundtrack.[2][3]

Reception

Lars Brandle of Billboard called the single "a sweet pop production with strings for hooks, an infectious beat and Autotuned vocals."[4] Larisha Paul of Rolling Stone wrote, "The record sounds like the perfect soundtrack to the Barbie dress-up games of the early 2000s that died when Adobe Flash Player did."[3]
