Upcoming Playboi Carti album
American rapper Playboi Carti is scheduled to release his upcoming third studio album in 2024, through Interscope Records, AWGE and Opium. The title of the album is currently unknown, although he has tested the tentative titles such as Narcissist[1] and Music[2] on social media.[3] The album will follow-up his second studio album Whole Lotta Red (2020).

Background
The first mention of a third Playboi Carti album dates back to March 10, 2021, after releasing his long-awaited second studio album Whole Lotta Red, Carti took to Instagram announcing new project, in which the caption claimed:[4]
LeTs dr0p thiS new Album . w3 noT done [sic].
Months later, Carti took to Instagram to announce the album's previous title, Narcissist[5] and the unaccomplished release date of September 13, 2021. Following this statement, the Narcissist Tour (later being renamed to "King Vamp Tour") was announced on September 1, 2021, and later confirmed on September 30, 2021.[6] In an interview with XXL,[7] Carti said the album would be titled Music.[8]
On February 21, 2023, DJ Swamp Izzo suggested on the Voices in the Streets Unfiltered that the album is near completion.[9] On March 3, 2023, Carti started day one of Rolling Loud California. During the set he performed an unreleased track "Rockstar", which is expected to be on his upcoming album.[10] During his headliner performance at Wireless Festival on the July 7, 2023, Carti previewed an unreleased song "Pop Out", which is expected to appear on the album.[11]
On July 28, 2023, Carti teased the album on Instagram after being featured on Travis Scott's long-awaited fourth studio album Utopia on the track "Fe!n", stating "New shit on the way, believe that."[12] On September 1, 2023, a rumoured potential lead single "Killers" was leaked online.[13] Song was first revealed in an April 12, 2022 interview with XXL as part of the new tracks for the upcoming album.[7]
On September 13, 2023, during a party for Carti’s 27th birthday, 4 unreleased tracks that are speculated to be on the album were previewed. Songs appear to feature American rappers Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert.[14] On October 18, 2023, Carti's label artist Ken Carson stated in a interview, that Carti will now reportedly drop in 2024.[15]
Title
Playboi Carti has provided several tentative titles for the album, the first being hinted at months later over Twitter with the name Narcissist[5] after posting an image of groupchat, stating:[16] "Forget about sample clearances . Drop Narcissist." Following the statement, the Narcissist tour was announced on September 1, 2021, and later confirmed on September 30, 2021. Carti also teased another title "Antagonist" which is the name of the tour with Ken Carson Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang. People say the tour's name could be the name for the album.[6]
In an interview in 2022 with XXL, Carti revealed another title for the album Music, where Carti stated "that's all it is at this point".[7]
