- Due to a lack of technical infrastructure in Timor-Leste, both legs were played in Nepal.[16]
- Timor-Leste hosted the UAE in Malaysia due to the lack of a suitable venue in Dili.[27]
- Timor-Leste hosted Malaysia in Malaysia due to the lack of a suitable venue in Dili.
- Timor-Leste hosted Chinese Taipei in Taiwan due to the lack of a suitable venue in Dili.
- Timor-Leste played their home match against Malaysia in the latter country due to a lack of a suitable venue in their country.[42]
- Timor-Leste will play their home game in Kaohsiung, due to the National Stadium in Dili failing to meet FIFA standards.
