Prix Iris for Best Film
The Prix Iris for Best Film (French: Prix Iris du meilleur film) is an annual film award presented Québec Cinéma as part of its Prix Iris program, to honour the year's best film made within the Cinema of Quebec.[1]
Until 2016, it was known as the Jutra Award for Best Film in memory of influential Quebec film director Claude Jutra.[2] Following the withdrawal of Jutra's name from the award, the 2016 award was presented under the name Québec Cinéma.[2] The Prix Iris name was announced in October 2016.[3]
Luc Vandal, Bernadette Payeur and Xavier Dolan each received two nominations as a producer in the same year, respectively in 2001, 2002 and 2015. Roger Frappier, Nancy Grant and Sylvain Corbeil achieved the same feat twice each; Frappier in 1999 and 2001, Grant in 2015 and 2016 and Corbeil in 2016 and 2020.
Producing duo Luc Déry and Kim McCraw received the most nominations and awards. Together, they were nominated for eleven films and won five awards, while Déry received another nomination and win for Soft Shell Man (Un crabe dans la tête) before their partnership. The pair also won two consecutive awards twice, in 2007 and 2008 and then in 2011 and 2012.
