Parul University

Parul University is a private university in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It was established in 2009 as the Parul Group of Institutes, and was given university status in 2015.[4]

Recognition

Parul University is recognized by University Grants Commission, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and the National Board of Accreditation, an autonomous body of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).[5]


Controversy

The founder and president of a University Jayesh Patel faced accusations of raping a girl student. The female rector of the girls' hostel, who was charged with aiding the offense, was arrested.[6] On June 21, 2016, Jayesh was apprehended by the Vadodara police and subsequently arrested.[7] And after Jayesh Patel had filed a bail application, in which he claimed that he had been in judicial custody for 18 months. During this period, 22 witnesses out of a total of 123 had been examined as part of the trial.[8]
