Moreni

Moreni (Romanian pronunciation: [moˈrenʲ]) is a municipality in Dâmbovița County, Muntenia, Romania, with a population of 15,472 (2021). The city is in the eastern part of the county, on the border with Prahova County. It is located 22 km (14 mi) east of the county seat, Târgoviște, and about 100 km (62 mi) north-west of Bucharest.

In 1861, Moreni became the first place in Romania (and third in the world) where oil was extracted.[3]

Recently, an industrial park was built by the local authorities to encourage investment in the area.
