Milli Vanilli (film)
Milli Vanilli is a 2023 American documentary film about the German-French pop duo Milli Vanilli, consisting of Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan.[2] The film chronicles the untold circumstances surrounding the duo's meteoric rise to fame and devastating fall. It features rare archival footage, exclusive interviews with Fab and Rob, and interviews with the real singers and record executives. It is directed by Luke Korem and produced by Korem, Bradley Jackson, MRC, Keep on Running Pictures, and Fulwell 73, in association with MTV Entertainment Studios.[3]

Milli Vanilli had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 10, 2023, and was released globally by Paramount+ on October 24, 2023.[4][5][6]
Synopsis
The film follows the rise to fame of Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan as the duo Milli Vanilli, in the late 1980s. Their first album, Girl You Know It’s True, went 6x Platinum in 1989 and sold over 30 million coppies worldwide. However, the duo's success came with a devastating price. The film features exclusive interviews with Rob and Fab, plus the real singers, record executives, as well as Timbaland, Diane Warren, and the mastermind behind the con, Frank Farian.
Reception
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 18 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.8/10.[7] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 72 out of 100, based on seven critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews.[8]
