Located in Hood County, portions of the district extend into Erath, Palo Pinto, and Parker counties.

As of the 2018โ2019 school year, the ethnic distribution of the school district was 84.1% White, 13.6% Hispanic, 0.7% American Indian, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Pacific Islander, and 1.1% from two or more races; no Asian students were reported. Economically disadvantaged students made up 48.7% of the student body, compared with 60.6% of all Texas students.[4]
