Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Yassin

Tan Sri Kamarul Ariffin bin Mohamed Yassin (born 12 August 1934)[1][2] served as the Chairman of the World Scout Committee.[3]

In this Malay name, there is no family name. The name Mohd Yassin is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by the given name, Kamarul Ariffin. The Arabic-derived word "bin" or "binti"/"binte", if used, means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.

In 1983, he was awarded the 160th Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting, at the 25th World Scout Conference.[4] He was also a recipient of the Silver World Award.
