Kallar Kahar

Kallar Kahar (Urdu: كلّر كہار) is a town and subdivision (Tehsil) of Chakwal District in Punjab, Pakistan. It is the capital of Kallar Kahar Tehsil.[1]

Emperor Babar described Kallar Kahar in his memoirs, " As a child of Kashmir due to its natural beauty and charming weather" and it's a natural sanctuary of peacocks but its reduced due to increased in population around the mountains and due to illegal catching of beautiful birds" the Takht-e-Babri, as a "charming place with good air".[2]

Takht-e-Babri is a very ancient and important place where long ago kings and queens used to sit and make important decisions. Now, it is like a big stone chair, telling us about the old days.[3]

Kallar kahar is easily accessible on the M-2 from Kallar Kahar interchange and also the beauty can be enjoyed from the Kallar Kahar Service Area of M-2 Moterway.

Katas Raj Temples, a famous complex of Hindu temples, is close to the town.Kallar kahar lake, tomb of Hubahu and Takht-e-Babri are famous places for tourists.

Among beautiful Villages of Tehsil Kallar Kahar Sardhi village is at top of mountains with beautiful view of M2 Motorway. Sardhi is located 17 Km from Kallar Kahar, most prominent villages including Miani, BuchalKhurd, Buchal Kalan Wasnal and Munara as well. Neela Wahn Water Fall is also located 25 Km from Kallar towards Munara.
