International University of Business Agriculture and Technology

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) is the first non-government university in Bangladesh. It was established in 1991 under the Private University Act (PUA) of 1992 (now replaced by PUA 2010) by M Alimullah Miyan.[5][6][7] IUBAT is a full member of Association of Commonwealth Universities, London[8] and this extended formal recognition of IUBAT degrees in 35 countries or regions of the Commonwealth.

Library

The university library has about 17,770 books, 760 journals, 2793 practicum reports, 122 cassettes and 700 DVDs and CDs. It is generally open from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm except on university holidays.

Clubs

The university has a number of clubs.

  1. ASHRAE IUBAT Student Branch: It is the first student branch of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers) in Bangladesh. The society has the aim to build a strong network in the HVAC&R sector with the students from IUBAT.
  2. IUBAT IT Society: An organization of computer specialized students. Which is divided into 8 groups namely Student Relations, Finance, Academic, Culture, Sports, Publishing, and Media, Mathematics Club, Programming Club, and Robotics Club. The current committee has 48 members.
