How Do We Relationship? (Japanese: 付き合ってあげてもいいかな, Hepburn: Tsukiatte Agetemo Ī Kana) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tamifull. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's MangaONE and Ura Sunday web platforms since August 2018. The manga has been licensed in North America by Viz Media.

Synopsis

After Miwa Inuzuka enters university, she by chance becomes friends with Saeko Sawatari, her polar opposite. Miwa joins a light music club at Saeko's invitation, and while conversing, they both come out as gay. Since Saeko had feelings for Miwa since they first met, she suggests they start dating. Though Miwa doesn't have romantic feelings for Saeko, her interest in love leads her to date Saeko.

Characters
Miwa Inuzuka (犬塚 みわ, Inuzuka Miwa)
She has short black hair. Tone deaf but plays the bass in the music club. Although she is popular with men, she has never been in a relationship with a man and Saeko is her first relationship with a woman. She has her driver's license, but after passing the exam, her instructor told her she is fundamentally unsuited for driving. She is shy but becomes bold when drunk.
Saeko Sawatari (猿渡 冴子, Sawatari Saeko)
Her hair is long and brightly died. She is in charge of guitar and composition in the music club. She has had relationships with both men and women but recalls bitter memories of dating a girl in middle school and describes her dating a man as her "desire to be normal gone awry".
Mikkun (みっくん, Mikkun)
Vocalist in the music club. The first to learn of Miwa and Saeko's relationship, and, though surprised, accepted it obediently.
Tsuruta (鶴田, Tsuruta)
Drummer in the music club. Before entering university, he was an otaku who was familiar with anime and games. He has little experience with real life love and falls in love with Miwa at first sight. Despite being rejected after confessing, he didn't give up and, although he outwardly supports Miwa and Saeko's relationship, has mixed feelings about it.
Rucha (ルチャ, Rucha)
Guitarist in the music club. Went to an all-boys high school.

Publication

How Do We Relationship is written and illustrated by Tamifull. It began publication in Shogakukan's MangaONE and Ura Sunday web platforms on August 17, 2018.[6] Shogakukan has compiled its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on January 11, 2019.[7] As of February 17, 2023, ten volumes have been published.[8]

In North America, Viz Media announced the English language release of the manga in October 2019.[9] The first volume was released on June 9, 2020.[10] On May 9, 2023, Viz Media launched their Viz Manga digital manga service, with the series' chapters receiving simultaneous English publication in North America as they are released in Japan.[11][12]

Reception

In 2019, How Do We Relationship? was nominated for the 5th Next Manga Awards in the digital category and placed 13th out of 50 nominees.[31]
