Gadezai

Gadezai is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) and Union council of Buner District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

Gadezai/Salarzai was formally established by the appointment of first Assistant Commissioner/Subdivision Magistrate Syed Hammad Haider PMS on 29th July 2020.

District Buner has six tehsils: Daggar, Chagharzai, Chamla, Khudu Khel, Gagra and Gadezai. Each tehsil comprises certain numbers of Union council. There are 27 union councils in Buner District.[1]

'Gadezai or Gaddaizai tribe': Gada was the son of Tajai, second son of Illias, whose father (Illias) was the 3rd son of Yusuf. The descendants of Gada are called after their ancestor.

Sardar Darwiz Khan son of Sardar Kachkol khan of Bhai Kaly. Darwiz Khan was the most powerful Khan of Buner, of Gadezai tribe in the 18th century. After Darwiz Khan, his sons, Miro Khan, Asim Khan, and Hayat Khan took control of the Gadezai tribe in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1923, they divided it into four villages: Malakpur, Narbatawal, Bhai Kalay, and Kalahela. After Miro Khan, Asim Khan, and Hayat Khan, Sikandar Khan, the son of Hayat Khan, became the Khan of Gadezai.After Sikandar Khan, his brother Samandar Khan’s sons Bahadar Khan became the Khan of Gadezai.  After Bahadar Khan’s death in 2003, his son Riaz Khan succeeded him as the Khan of Gadezai. Riaz Khan is also involved in politics, currently serving as the PTI President in Buner, and he has held positions such as MPA and Special Assistant and Advisor to the Cm KPK.
