Chomu
Chomu (Sanskrit chau meaning four, mouh meaning mouth or way) is a town and municipality in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It is known for Samod Balaji temple in Samod village.[1]

Demographics
As of 2011, Chomu has population of 64,417 of which 33,850 are males while 30,567 are females.
Chomu literacy rate is 79.35% higher than the state average of 66.11%. In Chomu, the literacy rate for men is 90.19%, compared to 67.62% for women.[2]
History
According to Vaidya Kailashnath Shastri, the kings of the Amer and Jaipur realms each had a unique personality. The day of Vaishakh Shukla Akshaya Tritiya in Samvat 1595 saw the founding of Chomu, according to information gathered from the history of the Nathawats and other sources. The Dharadhar fort Chaumuha city, which over time came to be known as Chomu, is said to have been founded in Abhijeet Muhurta by Maharaja Karan Singh. The Kachnar flag (Jhadshahi) was flown over the fort. The city wall has four doors built into it..[3]
An annual fest is held every year on 26 April in honor of the founders and of the town.
Samod Balaji
Samod Veer Hanuman Ji temple also known as Shri Samod Balaji is among the most ancient religious places in Chomu, Rajasthan. The presiding deity of temple is Lord Hanuman and it is worshipped all over Rajasthan. Samod Balaji is situated between the Mountains of Samod.[4]
To reach Hanuman Ji temple situated on the mountain peak, one has to climb about 1100 steps. In temple, a 6 feet statue of Hanuman Ji is situated along with statue of Shree Ram.[5]

According to Devi Singh, a local of Samod, Saint Nagnadas and his disciple Laldas visited Samod Mountain to Perform Penance about 600 years ago. I will arrive here in the appearance of valiant Hanuman, a voice from the sky is supposed to have whispered to Saint Nagnadas one day when he was performing penance. He also saw Hanuman in person on the hill's rock at the same moment. Saint Nagnadas was engaged in worshiping Hanuman after seeing Akashvani and Hanumanji. He began giving the rock where he had seen Hanumanji the darshan the form of the Hanumanji statue. The temple was built afterwards.[5][6]
Politics
Chomu is one of the 13 sub-districts in Jaipur and it consists of 3 blocks and covers nearly 80 villages. Chomu SDM (Sub-divisional Magistrate) is Shri Rahul Jain[7] and MLA is Ramlal Sharma.[8]
