History
The Seljuk army was spreading to Anatolia, which disturbed the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine emperor sent an army under the leadership of Manuel Komnenos against a Seljuk army that was campaigning in present-day Sivas. The Byzantine army suffered heavy losses, forcing it to retreat. In this battle, Manuel Komnenos was captured.[2][3][4]
