BMW F900R

The BMW F900R is a naked motorcycle introduced by BMW Motorrad in 2019. The F-series engine 850/900 also includes the F900XR the dual-sport and F850GS the Enduro.

It is based on the BMW F850 GS series project, with which it shares technical solutions and mechanical parts,[1] also adopted by the F900 XR.

Description

Presented in November 2019 during the EICMA in Milan,[2][3] the 900 R mounts a 895 cm³ in-line twin-cylinder engine which delivers a power of 105 HP and is managed by a six-speed gearbox with front engagement. Compared to the 850 GS engine from which it derives, it has undergone a displacement increase with an increase in bore and stroke to increase its power and improve its delivery. It features new forged pistons, double balancer shaft and 270° burst angle.[4]

Compared to the F800R, the 13-litre tank has undergone a modification, being mounted in the area under the saddle above the engine, with the aim of centralizing the masses. The weight stands at 211 kg in running order.

Standard equipment includes a color TFT display with BMW Motorrad multimedia connectivity system, LED headlight, ASC, ability to change riding modes, adjustable brake and clutch levers. Optional are available self-adaptive headlight that follows the trajectory by changing the direction of the light beam, an extra driving mode called Pro, electronically controlled rear suspension from ZF, emergency call and tire pressure control.[5]
