The 2024 European Figure Skating Championships is scheduled to be held in January 8–14, 2024, in Kaunas, Lithuania.[1][2]

Host selection

In 2021 ISU received 6 applications to host 2024 European Championships from Budapest (Hungary), Minsk (Belarus), Sofia (Bulgaria), Zagreb (Croatia), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Ostrava (Czechia) with Budapest winning the rights to host the championships.[3]

In early 2023 Hungary withdrew from hosting the championships due financial difficulties.[4] ISU received 3 new bids for hosting 2024 championships from Sofia (Bulgaria), Warsaw (Poland) and Kaunas (Lithuania).[5] On 12th of June 2023 Lithuanian Skating Federation announced that they have received confirmation from ISU that Kaunas was selected as a host for 2024 Championships.[2]

Qualification

Age and minimum TES requirements

The competition will be open to skaters from all European member nations of the International Skating Union. The corresponding competition for non-European skaters is the 2024 Four Continents Championships.

Skaters will be eligible if they turn 16 years of age before 1 July 2023 and met the minimum technical elements score requirements. The ISU accepted scores if they were obtained at senior-level ISU-recognized international competitions during the ongoing season at least 21 days before the first official practice day of the championships or during the preceding season.[6]
