2023 Summer World University Games
The 2023 FISU Summer World University Games (Universiade), officially known as the 2023 Summer Universiade or the XXXII Summer World University Games, and commonly known as Yekaterinburg 2023 or Ekaterinburg 2023, was planned to be the 32nd edition of the event, which was to be held from 8 to 19 August 2023 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.[1][2]

The games were suspended in 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with FISU ruling that the event would not take place in Yekaterinburg. Instead, the Chinese city of Chengdu, which was to have hosted in 2021, is hosting the delayed 2021 Summer World University Games in 2023.[3] To replace the suspended 2023 Summer World University Games, Russian authorities announced that they would host the inaugural University International Sports Festival as a replacement.[4]
