Nemzeti Bajnokság I

Following the rebuilding of Illovszky Rudolf Stadion, Vasas played most of their home fixtures at Szusza Ferenc Stadion during this season. There were concerns that the stadium will not meet stadium heating obligations, but a mobile track heating device lifted the problem.[1]

This was the team's first ever qualifying phase in the UEFA Europa League after the format change since their last participation in 2000–01. Vasas entered the competition in the first qualifying round where they were defeated by Beitar Jerusalem.[2]

The club entered the last rounds of the league in a fierce relegation battle between Diósgyőr, Balmazújváros, Haladás, Mezőkövesd and eventually finishing in the bottom. After finishing third and reaching Magyar Kupa final last season, Vasas will not play in Hungary's top-flight next season.[3]
