OWGR inclusion
In April, the Official World Golf Ranking announced that all MENA Golf Tour events would be awarded points, beginning with the Ras Al Khaimah Classic.[1]

Order of Merit
The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in U.S. dollars.[3] The top three players on the tour earned status to play on the 2017–18 Sunshine Tour.[3]

The MENA Golf Tour will be introduced to the OWGR System at minimum points levels of 3 first place points for 54 hole tournaments and 5 first place points for 72 hole tournaments, effective OWGR Week 17 - week ending April 24th 2016.

England's Hinton finished in a tie for 25th on two under after a final round 69, but it was enough to land him the Order of Merit title with $39,338 in earnings during the season as his fellow countryman Zane Scotland ($34,195) finished third... The top three professionals on the Order of Merit and the leading amateur will be invited to compete in the 2017 Omega Dubai Desert Classic in addition to earning full playing privileges on the Sunshine Tour and exemptions into the Final Stage of the Asian Tour Q-School.
