Gallipoli

On the 25th of April in 1915, 16,000 Australian and New Zealand troops began fighting hard on the Gallipoli peninsula to relieve pressure on Russian allies, with a tough stalemate against Ottoman forces lasting eight months.^[1]

Spanish Flu

Many Australians were wearing masks in Sydney in 1919.

Australia began taking precautions against the Spanish Flu on October 17th, 1918, and the virus was contained until January 1919.^[2]
