Zhenyuan County belongs to Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province. It is 96 kilometers away from the state capital Kaili City. It is located in the Wuling Mountain in the eastern part of Guizhou Province. It is a slope area of the transition from the Guizhou Plateau to the hills of western Hunan. It is bounded by Hunan Xinhuang in the east, Sansui and Jianhe in the south, Shibing in the west, and Shiqian of Cengong and Tongren City in the north. It is the Dongda of Guizhou Province. The door is known as the lock key of Yunnan and Chu, and the gateway to eastern Guizhou. It belongs to the central subtropical humid climate zone, with an average annual temperature of 16.6℃, a frost-free period of 292 days, an annual precipitation of 1,057 mm, and an annual sunshine of 1,200 hours. Zhenyuan County has a total area of 1,890 square kilometers [13] and has jurisdiction over 110 administrative villages, 5 communities and 4 neighborhood committees in 12 townships (towns). According to the data of the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Zhenyuan County was 189,715.

- It is most convenient to get there by train or by car.The railway station is located in the county, about three kilometers from the railway station to the ancient city. The best way to get to Zhenyuan is by train. Zhenyuan has its own railway station.
- Zhenyuan railway station from Guiyang or Kaili Zhenyuan train is the best choice, Guiyang to Zhenyuan 4 hours, Kaili to Zhenyuan 1 hour. From Zhenyuan railway station, take a taxi, about 5 yuan, you can reach Zhenyuan ancient town.

- 🌍 Qinglongdong Ancient Architectural Complex. Qīnglóngdòng Gǔ Jiànzhù Qún) is located on the cliff of Mount Zhonghe (中和山; Zhōnghé Shān), and on the riverside of Wu River. Three religions, Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, co-exist in the Qinglongdong Ancient Architectural Complex, including Zhusheng Bridge, Zhongyuan Chan Temple, Ziyang Academy of Classical Learning (紫阳书院; Zǐyáng Shūyuàn), Qinglongdong, Wanshou Palace (万寿宫; Wànshòu Gōng; 'Longevity Palace'), and Xiangluyan (香炉岩; Xiānglú Yán; 'Incenses Burner Rock'.
