The Tongo Hills are 20 km southeast from Bolgatanga, which can easily be reached with a car or bus from most other cities. For the last few kilometres, a Tricycle or taxi can be used.

Although there are no marked hiking trails you still can enjoy hiking in the Tongo Hills. There are no official maps, however openstreetmap.org can be used to navigate around the hills.
