- Luray Caverns is Luray's most well-known attraction. This 1.5 mile trek through a cave leads you through one of the most spectacular caves in the United States, densely populated by stalactites, stalagmites, columns, unique rock formations, and cave pools. Notable points of interest inside the cave network are the Great Stalacpipe Organ, an electrically actuated lithophone that produces music by tapping stalactites, and the Wishing Well pool, which collects coins from tourists and is drained annually, and the money is donated to local charities. Since 1954, the Wishing Well has collected nearly $1 million USD in donations. By the entrance are a large gift shop selling rocks and gems, toys, clothing, collectibles, and travel supplies as well as the Stalactite Cafe & Restaurant.
