Leiston is near the A12 and can be reached from the turning to Aldeburgh (A1094) if coming from Ipswich or the turning at Blythburgh (B1125) if coming from Lowestoft. There are various buses that come from Ipswich to Aldeburgh that stop at Leiston. Leiston no longer has a railway station, the nearest is in Saxmundham.

As of Sept 2022, Leiston, Sizewell and their approach roads have 4G from EE, but only a poor patchy signal from the other UK carriers. 5G has not reached this area.
