Isla Iguana is an island in the Los Santos province of the Pacific West region of Panama.

Understand

History

The island was a target for the US Military during the Second World war. You will see many remnants of the bombs that planes dropped during their target practice. This includes bomb craters both on the island itself, as well as in the coral and seabed surrounding the island. As recently as 2020, a large unexploded bomb was discovered and EOD personnel detonated it in situ. The resulting explosion was large enough to rattle windows in the town, almost 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) away.
