Igbesa kingdom was said to have been founded about 800 years ago by Akeredun, a hunter. He was the first to settle in Igbesa kingdom from Ile-Ife, he migrated through the water from Isheri using the direction of the mud plate which was set on Ologi water in Ojo. Ogunfunminire who hailed from Ile-Ife was the foremost to lead the Awori's from Ile-ife to settle in Igbesa.
