Igando is a community situated in the northwest of Lagos State and a district to Alimosho Local Government, the biggest constituency in Lagos State.

Igando was founded about 600 years ago, by the Bini people who migrated from Eru-Etan village. History shows that the founder of Igando village were Ezeba-Onimaba, Oko-Osi and Eshidana. These three founders migrated from Ile-Ife to Bini as hunters (They were on an hunting expedition looking for a village to settle. The three Hunters consulted Ifa to know the exact place to settle. The three founders: Oko-Osi, Eshidana an d Ezeba-Onimaba reached a point where there was a three “Ant hills”; it is called ‘Igan-Odo” in a Yoruba parlance. The consultation of the Ifa the great Orunmila told them to settle at the area. The Ant Hills- ”Igan-Do” was what was called ”Igando”.

Igando is divided into four areas, namely: Imoba, Isalu, Idojigbo and Isunbajon. These areas have traditional administrative ruler, each of which is headed by a white cap chief. Igando since its creation has had the Ruler ship of the following monarchs: Oba Eshidana, Oba Ezeba Onimaba, Oba Oro-Otan Onimaba, Oba Oyero, Oba kafaru Shodeke, Oba Ogunbewon and the Incumbent, Oba Lasisi Gbadamosi (1978- till date). The main occupation of the people is Farming and Trading
