Alavus is a town of around 11000 inhabitants at the Lapua river. Undoubtedly the biggest draw is the Veljekset Keskinen department store in the village of Tuuri (10 km east of Alavus downtown).

By train
Local trains between Seinäjoki and Ähtäri stop at Alavus station, as well as at Tuuri.
By bus
You can likewise get in by bus from Seinäjoki and Ähtäri.
By car
Alavus is at the crossing of highways 18 between Vaasa and Jyväskylä and 66 between Orivesi (near Tampere) and Lapua.
