Yezhov Volodymyr Anatoliyovych

Volodymyr Anatoliyovych Yezhov (known by the nickname "Fresh"; August 1, 1984, Lubny — December 22, 2022, Bakhmut)  was a Ukrainian video game developer[1][2] and game designer. He was one of the developers of the game STALKER. He participated in the defense of Ukraine against the Russian invasion.

Early life

Yezhov graduated from KPI with a degree in electronics engineering.[3]

Career

Until 2007, Yezhov worked as a game designer at GSC Game World.[4] He participated in the creation of games such as STALKER, Clear Sky, «Cossacks», World of Battles: Morningstar, Call of Cthulhu and Sherlock Holmes: Devil's Daughter.[5][6] In STALKER Yezhov used his own face for the character of Loki.[4] He had two minor sons.

Starting from February 24, 2022, he defended Kyiv as a volunteer in UVO company, formed by veterans of the «OUN» battalion on the eve of the Russian invasion.

On December 22, 2022, Yezhov fell defending the Motherland Ukraine from the Russian invaders near Bakhmut.[7][8][9] On December 27, 2022, his farewell was held in the Volodymyr Cathedral with the participation of a military guard, attended by many people.[10] He was buried at the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv.
