Willie Lee Glass

Willie Lee Campbell Glass (née Willie Lee Campbell; August 24, 1910 – May 2, 1999) was an African-American academic.[1][2]

Early life and education

Glass was born on 24 August 1910 in Nacogdoches, Texas.[1] Her father, Edward John Campbell, was a principal of a segregated school in Nacogdoches.[1]

She was educated at Prairie View A & M College.[1] In 1936, she married Dominion Robert Glass, president of Texas College a historically black college in Tyler, Texas.[3]

Career

During her career, Glass headed Texas Education Agency, the education branch of the government of Texas.[1] She was a co-founder of Top Teens of America (now known as Top Ladies of Distinction).[4]
