Vandalianism

Vandalianism was the Polish paranational concept based on the belief that the Poles descended from the Vandals. The term was coined by Wojciech Paszyński in 2022 for the similarity to Sarmatism and for the attempt to avoid confusion with the term 'vandalism' as well.[1][2]

The concept of the Vandal origin of Poles was initiated in Poland by Vincent Kadlubek (between 1190 and 1208). It has achieved the peak of popularity in the middle of the 16th century. After that it has been mostly forgotten and replaced by Sarmatism, once again gaining some popularity in the 21st century Poland.[3]
