Vahan Khoreni
Khoreni Vahan (Armenian: Վահան Խորենի, 1884 - 1920) was an Armenian politician and statesman who was a member of the parliament in the First Republic of Armenia.[1][2]

Biography
Khoreni was born in the village of Brnakot in Syunik in 1884.
He graduated from the Etchmiadzin Gevorgyan Seminary, studied in Saale in the medical department of the university, in 1913 he graduateed from the Leipzig Historical and Philosophical department of the university. Later on, he received a Ph.D. degree in the Nersisyan school of Tbilisi.
He edited the newspapers ''Ashkhatavor'' based in Tbilisi, and ''Hayastani Zarabavor'' based in Yerevan, where his series of articles ''Homeland Letters'' was published. Vahan Khoreni praised Armenian labor, considering it to be part of the policy vanguard, assigned a major role to the Armenian Revolutionary Federation party in Eastern Armenia. He was in favor of relying on one's own forces in the cause of liberation, he was against the Bolshevik East of the ''Eastern International''. In 1919, he was elected a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia. Being an Armenian supporter of statehood, he took initiative to prevent possible civil strife, in August 1920 on the instructions of the government, he left for Syunik. However, he would be arrested by Soviet authorities in Goris shortly after the Soviet takeover, and was later killed in the prison of Goris alongside 13 of his allies.[3]
