The station is located at the intersection of Interstate 35E and the President George Bush Turnpike. It is named for Trinity Mills Road, a frontage road for PGBT, which in turn is named after a mid-19th century settlement that was later annexed by Carrollton.
History

Trinity Mills station opened on December 6, 2010 as part of the Green Line's second phase. The station replaced North Carrollton Transit Center, a bus-only facility on Trinity Mills Road, which has since been demolished.
A-Train service began June 20, 2011.[3]
In 2020, Carrollton announced the creation of Trinity Mills Station, a transit-oriented development zone in a 25-acre site adjacent to the DART station.[4]
