Until 18 July 2020, Stroivka belonged to Dvorichna Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kharkiv Oblast to seven. The area of Dvorichna Raion was merged into Kupiansk Raion.[2][3]
In September 2023, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukraine announced it had liberated the village from Russian occupation, after it had remained in the "gray zone" for the better part of a year.[4]
