Stomping Grounds (album)
Stomping Grounds is the 13th studio album from the American psychedelic rock trio Circus Devils.[2] The album is divided into two halves, with side one of the vinyl record having a more aggressive, classic rock sound, in contrast with side two, which is more relaxed and pensive. All songs were written and performed by Robert Pollard, Todd Tobias and Tim Tobias.

Reception
The Fire Note's Simon Workman wrote,
Sometimes Stomping Grounds feels similar to the Crimson-esque mellotron whimsy of 2014's Escape. However, much of the album takes its cues from 70s heavy metal (and other Circus Devils hard rock such as Pinball Mars and Mother Skinny). “Cold Joker” especially provides some fantastic guitar riffage. Stomping Grounds is yet another chapter in the ongoing narrative of the band, one that uses the past as a foundation for more experimentation and growth. By now, though, it should be clear that Circus Devils isn't just a Robert Pollard “side project,” but a band that deserves just as much attention as his other, more high-profile projects. As is usually the case with Circus Devils albums, Stomping Grounds is full of weird, off-kilter brilliance, the perfect soundtrack to long, cold autumn nights.[1]
