Perlia's nucleus

Perlia's nucleus, also known as nucleus of Perlia, located in the mesencephalon, is implicated in parasympathetic oculomotor functions, possibly including input to the iris and ciliary.[1][2] Perlia's nucleus may be a feature only possessed by humans, given that "a systematic study of 95 monkey brains revealed only 9% with a clear midline group, which might correspond to the NP".[3]
