Northeastern Region (Iceland)
Northeastern Region (Icelandic: Norðurland eystra [ˈnɔrðʏrˌlant ˈeistra]) is one of the traditional eight regions of Iceland, located in the north of the island. The biggest town in the region is Akureyri, with a population of 17,300.
