Plot
Mahua is an innocent bright girl living with her father, Dharma, mother, elder sister Boondi and elder brother Bablu in a village. Shambhu Singh Thakur is the elder grandson of a wealthy woman named Durga Singh Thakur "Ammaji", and has a paternal uncle, Ramesh Singh Thakur and a younger cousin named Radhe Singh Thakur. Mahua meets Shambhu accidentally when he drives the jeep and accidentally pours the muddy water into Mahua's dress. They argue and hate each other. When Mahua was 18, the poor family sold her to Ramesh using the nath utrayi system in the village. He tries to kill Mahua multiple times, but Shambhu saves her. Boondi has an arranged marriage with Shambhu. During the wedding, Padma Ramesh Dingh Thakur, Ramesh's wife, replaces Boondi and brings Mahua whom Shambhu marries before he figures it out. But when Shambhu discovers that he is actually married to Mahua, he starts hating her. Over time, they gradually fall in love. Shambhu is killed by Boondi and Ramesh. After Shambhu's death, Mahua gets married to Inspector Aryan Mishra, who is the best friend of Shambhu.
Mahua gets pregnant and gives birth to two daughters, but Garjan Mishra, who is Aryan's father steals one without her noticing. Mahua sees a woman selling a child to some people, and she takes the child from them, unaware that the child is hers. But the same woman comes inside the house saying her baby is missing. Aryan gets into a fight with Mahua, and they separate. Each of them take a daughter.
5 years later
Mahua lives in the village as a school teacher, raising her daughter Krishna. At the same time, Aryan is seeing a woman named Kajal while raising his daughter Gauri. Gauri and Krishna grow up and study in the same school.
Aryan decided to divorce Mahua to marry Kajal and live happily. Mahua refuses to sign the divorce papers, and Ammaji announces Aryan and Kajal's wedding in front of the villagers.
After Aryan and Mahua reunited, Aryan was killed by Ramesh. After Aryan's death,Mahua mistakenly goes to Pakistan. In Pakistan, she is presumed as another girl and her marriage gets fixed with Shoaib. Mahua tells Shoaib the truth and he helps her in escaping Pakistan. After returning to India, Mahua gets married to Captain Aditya Rathore. Meanwhile, Padma gets murdered and Ramesh gets arrested for Padma's murder. At this time, an evil man named Sukant Narayan used to regularly torture her widowed sister–in–law, Janaki. Mahua tried to help Janaki and asked her to report her problems to her. Mahua got the evidences to Sukant's crimes, but before she could expose him, he kills her by throwing her off from a under construction building.
16 years later
Durga, Krishna and Gauri are forced to live a poor lifestyle in the village because Mrs. Narayan had snatched the ancestral house of the Thakur family by deceit. Meanwhile Gauri falls in love with Jeet Narayan, the grandson of Mrs. Narayan. Gauri was very eager to become a heroine and hence during her day of marriage to Jeet, she asked Krishna to sit in the mandap in a veil in place of her till she returned with Jeet. But as Gauri got late in returning, Krishna and Jeet get married. Consumed by hatred and anger, Gauri decides to win back Jeet and break Krishna and Jeet's marriage. She tried to win back Jeet several times, but she fails in doing so because Jeet gets attracted to Krishna's selfless love and caring nature. Then Gauri misunderstands Krishna as Mahua's murderer and in order to take revenge on Krishna, she gets married to Sukant Narayan, who is the paternal uncle of Jeet. Krishna finds out that Sukant murdered Mahua and she finally exposes him. Sukant shoots himself, but he gets saved in time. Sukant loses his mental balance and is sent to a mental asylum. Krishna finds out that Sukant had inherited the ancestral house of the Thakur family from Mrs. Narayan by deceit. Gauri betrays Krishna and she says that being Sukant's wife announces that she is the owner of the ancestral house and orders Krishna to move out of the house
