Morgane Bourgeois

Morgane Bourgeois (born 6 February 2003) is a French rugby union player who plays as a winger for the France women's national rugby union team, and Stade Bordelais as fullback or flyhalf.

Career

She was captain of the France under-20 team in 2022,[1] and trained with the group preparing for the 2022 Women's Rugby World Cup.[2] Morgane Bourgeois was not selected in September 2022 for the trip to New Zealand.[3] She ended the season with players under 20, to acquire playing time at international level.[4] At the start of 2023, however, at the age of 19, she signed a professional contract with the French Rugby Federation and thus entered the group of thirty-two players pre-selected for the season.[5]

She competed at the 2023 Women's Six Nations Championship, starting the match at fullback, against the Irish team.[6][7]

She played for Stade Bordelais which lost in the 2021-2022 French championship semi-final, against Stade Toulousain. In January 2023, Morgane Bourgeois was the best scorer in the championship.[8]
