Maxi gained fame as part of the "Ah Boys" group, which became well-known through the "Ah Boys to Men" film franchise. This series has been a significant breakthrough in his career.
He also has an extensive portfolio in the film industry, having appeared in eight feature films. He has also been involved in various productions, including short films, music videos , television commercials, television dramas, and variety shows.
Maxi's success in "Ah Boys to Men" allowed him to travel to regional countries like Taiwan, The Philippines, and China for film promotions and work. He played the role of 'Baby Face' in Jack's Movie, "The Lion Men," which involved intensive lion dance and martial arts training.
Back in 2014, Maxi made his theatre debut in "Ah Boys to Men The Musical," held at Resorts World Sentosa. His performance received positive reviews from both the press and critics.
Maxi underwent significant physical transformations for his roles. For instance in 2015, he lost 11kgs for a role in the Naval diving unit, which was commended as one of his best performances in his career.
In addition to acting, Maxi has experience hosting various events, such as the Sengkang West National Day Dinner and Let’s Go Jalan Jalan To A Pet Festival. He also returned to the stage with the cast of "Ah Boys to Men" at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s Re:Mix Getai 2020.

It's great to hear about Maxi's participation in the Ring white collar boxing show in 2023 held at Marquee MBS and his representation of the prestigious EvolveMMA gym. Challenging an experienced boxing coach with only 5 months of training is quite an achievement, even if he didn't win the match. Such events that combine sports and charity can have a positive impact on the community and those in need. Maxi's participation in this event likely had a significant contribution to its success.
Overall, Maxi Lim's career showcases his versatility in both film and television, as well as his dedication to preparing for his roles through physical transformations and intensive training. His association with the "Ah Boys to Men" franchise has played a significant role in establishing his presence in the local film industry.
