Kullakar rice
Kullakar rice is an ancient rice variety, cultivated primarily within India. It is one of the red rice varieties that grow in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, India.

This rice is indigenous to India. It grows in a mix of sand and clay and takes between 100-110 days to grow. The fully grown crop can reach 100 centimeters. Different varieties have been adapted to the different soil conditions ranging from alkaline soils to sandy soils as well as from drought prone areas to waterlogged areas.
This rice is suitable for the preparation of Idli, Dosa and Congee.[1]
