Kamal Maula Mosque

The Kamal Maula Mosque (Hindustani: Kamal Maula Masjid) is a mosque in the city of Dhar in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.[1] It contains the tomb of Kamāl al-Dīn, a Sufi saint of the Chishti Order.[2][3]

The Kamal Maula Mosquea, along with the Bhoj Shala, is a protected site of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).[3]

History

The Kamal Maula Mosque was erected by Alauddin Khalji in the early 14th century.[1] The Kamal Maula Mosque drew influence from the Qutb Mosque in Delhi and in 1405, the Tughluq Indian emperor Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud Shah Tughluq erected the Dhar iron pillar in the centre of the nearby Lat Mosque to reflect this inspiration.[1]
