Joe Whitman
Joseph Daniel Whitman (born September 17, 2001) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Amateur career
Whitman grew up in Hudson, Ohio and attended Hudson High School.[1][2] Whitman would start his collegiate career at Purdue. He only pitched 5+2⁄3 innings over two seasons for the Boilermakers before he would decide to transfer to Kent State.[3] In his first season with the team, Whitman went 9–2 with a 2.56 ERA and 100 strikeouts.[4] For his performance on the year Whitman earned first team All-MAC, and was named the MAC Pitcher of the year. He was also named a first team All American.[5]
Professional career
Whitman was selected by the San Francisco Giants with the 69th overall pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball draft.[6][7] He signed with the Giants for $805,575.[8]
