Jane Taylor (musician)
Jane Taylor (born 19th July 1972) is an English Singer Songwriter, pianist and guitarist based in Bristol. In 2003 she won both UK Songwriter Of The Year[1] and International Songwriter Of The Year (song writing Category) with her song ‘Blowing This Candle Out’ which she recorded with Massive Attack guitarist Angelo Bruschini and Strangelove's bass player Joe Allen.

Career
Summary
In 2005 Johnny Walker played ‘Fall On Me’, the opening track from her debut album ‘Montpelier,’ (produced by Bill Lovelady) on his BBC Drive Time Show and invited her in for a live session. Later that same year her track ‘Getting To Me’ was featured on the TV series Dawsons Creek
In 2006 she opened for Jools Holland at the Larma Tree Festival.
The JT Band (Rob Bray, Lizz Lipscombe and John Holmes, and earlier, Robin Davies, Beth Porter, Neil Gay, Ben Hostler) toured the UK supporting Paolo Nutini, Bill Wyman, Andy Fairweather Low and The Blue Nile.[2]
Her second album ‘Compass’, produced by Mercury Nominee Producer Colin Elliot, won ‘Best Album’ at the 2010 Independent Music Awards.[3]
The album featured the Grimethorpe Colliery Band (Brassed Off), The Richard Hawley Band (Shez Sheridan, Dean Berrisford & Colin Elliot) and Longpigs drummer Andy Cook.
She appeared on BBC Radio 2 on the The Bob Harris Show in 2012[4] performing songs from a musical written by Jane called ‘Mr Claus’.
In September 2023 a second collaboration with Colin Elliot produced her third album ‘All The Colours’.
